A Nagla resident was injured in an altercation with a group of kanwariyas in Zirakpur on Tuesday morning.

The victim, Ramandeep Singh, sustained head injuries and was admitted to a hospital after the attack. The victim said the incident took place around 9.30 am. “My elbow touched a ‘kanwar’ placed on the road after which two youths from the group started arguing with me and hit me. My motorcycle too fell on the road and was damaged,” he said.

The victim stated that he sustained five stitches on his head.

Satinder Singh, SHO of the Zirakpur police station, said, “The matter has been resolved amicably. No police complaint has been received in this regard.”
