Naksha: Aerial survey complete in Chandigarh

The aerial survey of five villages and 15 sectors here has been completed in the first phase of the National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations pilot programme, also called “Naksha”.

Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Government of India, reviewed the progress of the pilot programme at a meeting here today. It is being undertaken in the city as a model initiative.

The officials told Joshi that a state-level committee, state project management unit and field survey teams have been constituted for the second phase of the programme. The status of the digitisation of registration records was also presented at the meeting for review and further planning.

The “Naksha” has been launched under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme.
