Dera Bassi: Advocate Amarinder Singh Nanwa polled 92 votes while Vikrant Pawar bagged 63 votes to be elected as president of the Dera Bassi Bar Association. Shiv Sharma was unanimously elected to the post of vice-president. Vikas Goyal was elected secretary, Zeba Praveen joint secretary and Suresh Sharma cashier. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
