The celebrations commenced with a special morning assembly featuring a prayer song and student speeches on the significance of Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to expressing gratitude to gurus for their wisdom and blessings. It also marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Veda Vyasa, author of the Mahabharata, and is observed by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. Students also shared the story of Guru Dronacharya from ancient texts, underscoring the timeless reverence for teachers in Indian tradition

One of the most touching moments came when students handed over handwritten letters to their teachers. These personal notes expressed gratitude, admiration and heartfelt memories.

Across Narayana Schools’ campuses, an interactive workshop was organised between students and teachers. During these sessions, teachers encouraged students to think beyond commonly used AI tools, leading to engaging discussions on the use of AI, AR, VR and other emerging technologies. They also emphasised the importance of using technology in a balanced way, cautioning against overdependence. Teachers urged students to first think critically and then use these tools to deepen their understanding.

To conclude the day on a fun note, students hosted a light-hearted session for teachers on Gen Z communication trends. They explained how their generation uses slang, emojis, GIFs, voice notes and memes to communicate, especially in group chats and how these trends influence the way they engage.

Puneet Kothapa, President of Narayana Educational Institutions, said, “The Guru Purnima celebrations at Narayana Schools were heartwarming. From the special assembly and meaningful performances to students personally felicitating their teachers and sharing handwritten letters, every gesture reflected deep respect and gratitude. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong values we uphold, where students honour their mentors not just through words, but through thoughtful actions. Our educators don’t just teach; they guide, uplift and help turn every student’s dream into reality.”

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the enduring bond between students and teachers, and the importance of acknowledging their contributions.
