Chandigarh: Livewire Coaching Centre (LWCC) defeated Godrej India Ltd by five wickets in a One India Cricket Cup match at Divya Public School. Batting first, Godrej India scored 135 runs in 20 overs. Avi Kumar (26) and Rahul Hooda (21) made useful contributions to the total. Narendera Chaaran claimed four wickets. In reply, LWCC rode on Harvinder Nain’s quick-fire 64 to reach home in 18.2 overs. Jerath appointed observer

Chandigarh: CK Jerath, chairman, Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Association, has been appointed as observer for the Khelo India University Games to be held in Bhubaneswar from February 22. Earlier, Jerath had officiated as chairman, jury boxing, during various National Games. He also represented the country as manager and technical observer in the Beijing and London Games. TNS

Camp held at Yoga College

Chandigarh: A lecture-cum-medical camp on Ayurveda was organised at Government College of Yoga Education and Health. The lecture was delivered by Dr Arvind. He explained various treatments using panchkarma and shirodhara to manage ailments like arthritis and migraine. TNS

Sahil, Kavita shine

Mohali: Sahil Thakur and Kavita Rani were named the best athletes during the 6th Annual Sport Meet of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, on Wednesday. Students competed in 1500m, 800m, 400m, 200m and 100m run besides other track and field events. Wrestler Babita Phogat awarded the winners along with CGC president Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal also announced to award the winners of various inter-college sports competitions, organised by IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, in coming months. TNS
