National Cadet Corps Director General Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh visited Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh NCC Directorate here today and discussed the road map for expansion of the corps in these states.

He interacted with officers and staff of the directorate as well as with the commanders of the NCC Group Headquarters based at different places in the region.

Maj Gen Manjeet Singh Mokha, Additional Director General, NCC, highlighted the social service and nation-building activities being carried out by the cadets of the directorate.

The Director General also visited the sailing node at Sukhna Lake run by the Chandigarh naval NCC unit. He was shown naval equipment and briefed on activities being carried out at the node by Brig Harpreet Singh, Commander, Chandigarh NCC Group, and Capt Tejinder Singh, Commanding Officer of the naval unit.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
