Need to have innovative housing plans: Chandigarh Chief Secretary

The Chief Secretary made these remarks while chairing a review meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB). The meeting focused on enhancing innovation, improving operational efficiency and ensuring greater accountability within the organisation.
A detailed presentation was made on the sanctioned strength of staff, recovery of outstanding dues and other works of the CHB. However, no decision was taken on the launch of the proposed general housing scheme in Sector 53.
Emphasising the pivotal role of the CHB in providing housing to the residents of Chandigarh, the Chief Secretary directed the Board to formulate a comprehensive plan outlining its contribution to the city’s overall development.
Furthering the Administration’s vision of transforming the city into a Model Solar City, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to initiate the installation of solar panels on the rooftops of CHB flats. The meeting was attended by Diprava Lakra, Finance Secretary; Pardeep Kumar, CEO, CHB; and other senior officials of the Board.
