A Haryana-cadre IAS officer of 2013-batch, Nishant Kumar Yadav, today assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chandigarh. Before joining Chandigarh Administration, Yadav was posted as the DC of Gurugram.

Yadav replaced DC Vinay Pratap Singh who was today relieved by the UT Administration to enable to join his parent state of Haryana.

Yadav was appointed Gurugram DC in February 2022. He had earlier served as DC of Karnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner of Karnal, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Sonepat. He had also served as Secretary in Haryana Public Service Commission.
