Mohali, April 20

Deputy Commissioner Amit Talwar said service centres would now be open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 4 pm to provide services to the public.

A total of 15 service centres are functional in the district, of which 12 centres are at the tehsil level and three in the villages. More than 375 services of 24 departments are provided by these centres. —

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
