New underpass brings relief to Pkula-Shimla highway users

A long-standing traffic hurdle on the Panchkula-Shimla highway has finally been addressed with the opening of a crucial underpass near Amravati Enclave. Theinfrastructure upgrade is set to significantly reduce congestion, benefiting not only daily commuters but also residents from around 50 villages and a large number of tourists.

The underpass is designed to facilitate seamless vehicular movement, minimising delays that were previously common, especially during peak tourist seasons.

Now fully functional, the new route ensures quicker and more secure transit for local residents and visitors alike. Enhanced accessibility is expected to boost tourism, making travel more convenient for those who frequent the area.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
