The Proclaimed Offenders (PO) and Summons Staff of the UT police arrested nine persons.

Among those apprehended is Ravi, alias Chula, of Mauli Jagran, who was wanted in a 2022 case involving charges of attempt to murder, assault and violations of the Arms Act. Sheetal of Kajheri, facing trial in a 2019 case of rash driving and assault, was also nabbed.

Six absconders in cheque bounce cases — Manish Kumar of Panchkula, Parvesh Bansal of Barnala, Mamta Sood of Chandigarh, Gurdeep Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib, Ranjit Singh of Zirakpur and Aarush of Dhakoli — were arrested too.

Besides, Salman Khan of Patiala was arrested in execution of a non-bailable warrant in a case registered under the Negotiable Instruments Act case. He was later let off on bail.
