The Chandigarh Stray Animal Incident/Accident Compensation Committee today approved 106 cases for relief.

Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav today chaired a meeting of the committee to review and expedite cases of compensation for victims of incidents involving stray animal. As many as 146 cases were taken up for consideration and after a thorough review, 106 were approved for compensation. The remaining cases were put on hold for further examination to ensure a fair assessment of damages.

The chairperson emphasised the need for a transparent and efficient compensation process in accordance with the guidelines provided under the related policy. Senior officials of the Police Department, the MC and the Health Department present in the meeting provided inputs on streamlining the process and addressing concerns related to invidents involving stray animals.
