The PGI has got the approval for 1,182 new positions from the standing finance committee. The sanctioned ones include 534 security personnel, 324 attendants and 324 sanitation workers.

The PGI is gearing up to open an Advanced Neurosciences Centre, Advanced Mother and Child Care Centre. To ensure robust security for these centres, 534 ex-servicemen will be appointed. Recruitment will also extend to meet staff requirements at PGI’s satellite centres in Sangrur and Una.

Deputy Director Administration Pankaj Rai said, “These will be filled as soon as two centres will be operational.”
