The centre has already started functioning and is engaged in centralised and merchandised delivery of parcels. A total of nine postmen have been assigned to the centre for speedy disbursal of parcels.

Manoj Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Chandigarh Postal Division, said: “Since the parcel segment is gaining more priority after utilisation of e-commerce by public at large and to closely monitor the delivery of parcels, it has been decided to centralise the delivery of parcels by introducing nodal delivery centre in Sector 17 for almost all delivery zones of the UT.”

During the national postal week, the division will observe Banking Day on October 10, PLI Day on October 12, Philately Day on October 13, Business Development Day on October 14 and Mail Day on October 15.
