The UT Administration has extended the last date to submit application for issuance of temporary licence for the sale of eco-friendly green crackers during the festival of Diwali at various sites in the city.

According to a public notice issued by the office of the District Magistrate-cum-Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority, UT, all applicants have to apply through online mode with effect from 9 am on September 1 to 5 pm on September 3.

The draw of lots will be held on September 10 at 4 pm at Bal Bhawan in Sector 23.

Earlier, August 28 was the last date to submit the application. The Administration had received nearly 1,800 applications, and the draw of lots was to be held on September 1.

Last year, 2,836 applications were received for 96 licences. The stalls were set up at 12 locations in the city for three days.
