Allottees of the independent houses of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) will no more need to get the building plan approved for reconstruction of their units. For their convenience, the board has prepared a few standard drawings.

“If an allottee wants to demolish his/her house and construct it afresh, he/she does not need to seek a fresh approval for the building plan if the house has to be reconstructed in accordance with a standard design prepared by the board,” said Yashpal Garg, Chief Executive Officer, CHB.

He said the need-based changes approved by the CHB were also incorporated in the drawings.

Owners of the houses in a dilapidated condition had approached the CHB for reconstruction of their houses after demolition. To provide relief to such allottees,
