Civil Surgeon Dr Mukta Kumar said all citizens aged 70 and above are eligible to apply for the cards, which are being generated through an Aadhaar-based e-KYC process.

Ayushman Mitras have been appointed at block-and district-level government hospitals to assist with the generation of these cards. With these cards, beneficiaries will be able to access cashless treatment at government as well as empanelled private hospitals.

A statement issued by the District Health Department described this initiative as an important step towards providing senior citizens with quality and accessible healthcare services.
