Durga Bisht is survived by her husband and three sons. Police have not ruled out the husband’s involvement in the incident. Dhakoli SHO, DSP Preet Kanwar Singh, stated that the husband has been taken into custody and the matter is under investigation.

A forensic team was called to the spot and collected evidence from the scene. The police have taken possession of the body and shifted it to the mortuary of the Dera Bassi Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

According to the police, it was the victim’s son who first discovered the body and informed authorities after arriving home.
