The Oncology Day Care Centre at Command Hospital, Chandimandir, was inaugurated on September 6 by Lt Gen MK Katiyar, GOC-in-C Western Command, in the presence of Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Chandigarh Circle.

Maj Gen Harkirat Singh, Commandant, Command Hospital, Western Command, expressed gratitude to State Bank of India for this contribution.

As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, SBI had extended financial support of Rs 29,00,362 in March to Command Hospital, Chandimandir, for procurement of medical equipment for establishment of the Oncology Day Care Centre.

This initiative supports the noble cause of cancer treatment and strengthens the bond between State Bank of India and the Defence Forces, said a press release.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
