One more fatality was witnessed due to Covid in the district during the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 304. Besides, 69 more persons contracted the virus, pushing up the tally to 16,736. As many as 95 patients were cured.

Among the fresh cases, 42 came from Mohali (urban), two each from Boothgarh and Dera Bassi, four from Dhakoli, 10 from Gharuan, five from Kharar, one from Lalru and three from Kurali.

So far, the district has reported 14,119 recoveries. There are 2,313 active cases.

In view of the second wave of the pandemic, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan appealed to the people not to be lax in adopting the advisory issued by the government and the health department from time to time. He appealed to the people to give full importance to the curfew within the municipal limits from 10 pm to 5 am.
