Chandigarh: The city police have arrested a 25-year-old man with banned vials. Accused Pardeep, a resident of Phase II, Ram Darbar, was arrested from near his house with seven vials. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him at the Sector 34 police station.

Three booked for assault

Chandigarh: Three persons have been booked by the Chandigarh Police for attacking a Dadu Majra resident with a knife. Complainant Yogesh alleged that Panna, Yaman and Nikhil attacked him with a knife near his house. He was admitted to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. A case has been registered.

Woman attacked at Dadu Majra

Chandigarh: A woman was reportedly attacked with a stick by some miscreants. The complainant, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony, reported that Vicky, Ravi Kumar, Gagan alias Goggi and others allegedly attacked her with a stick. A case has been registered.

White coat ceremony held

Mohali: Dr BR Ambedkar State Institution of Medical Sciences, Mohali, organised a ‘White Coat Ceremony’ for its fourth batch of MBBS students today. Guest of Honour Dr A K Attri (Director Principal, GMCH 32, Chandigarh), Chief Patron Dr Bhagwant Singh (Chairman, AIMS, Mohali), Mr Rahul Gupta, Additional Director, AIMS, Mohali, and Additional Secretary Medical Education and Research, Punjab, graced the occasion. Since it was Children’s Day, a renowned paediatrician, Dr Raj Kumar Gupta, also attended the ceremony and announced the ‘Dr RK Gupta Best Graduate Gold Medal Award’ for the student who excelled in paediatrics during the academic course.
