A vehicle of the Punjab Government and another car collided at the Sector 7-8 lights-point, this afternoon, leaving one girl with minor injuries. The police are yet to identify the cause of the accident.

Eye-witnesses said, an I20, coming from the Nada Sahib road rammed into the official vehicle. Naresh Dubey, Additional Commissioner Excise, Punjab, occupant of the Innova, claimed an under-age girl was driving the I20 at a high speed. He said, “It was a green light and we were coming from Chandigarh when the other car crashed into us. We escaped without any injuries.”

The girl was admitted to a hospital with minor injuries. The police remained mum, stating they were investigating the matter.
