An elderly woman, who was out on a morning walk, was allegedly duped of gold bangles by a car-borne gang, including three women and a man.
Complainant Prem Kaur (75), a resident of Behlana, said a white car stopped next to her near the Airport light point when she was out on a walk. The woman sitting next to the driver greeted her and started a conversation. In the meantime, another woman sitting at the rear seat came out of the vehicle and hugged her. The victim thought they could be her acquaintances. The suspects then left the spot. The victim later found that her two gold bangles were missing. A case was registered at the Sector 31 police station.
The car-borne gang of women with a man as a driver has targeted several women in the tricity in the past few years. The suspects make elderly sit in the car on the pretext of dropping them at their home and steal their gold bangles.
