Over 38,000 MT wheat procured in Panchkula

A total of 38,538 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in Panchkula district so far by government procurement agencies during the ongoing rabi season 2025–26.

Providing details, a spokesperson of the Department of Food and Supplies stated that wheat and mustard procurement was actively being carried out by the state-run agencies, HAFED (Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation) and the Haryana State Warehousing

The procurement is taking place at the designated grain markets in Panchkula, Barwala, and Raipur Rani.

The spokesperson further informed that the corporation had procured 18,863 metric tonnes of wheat from Barwala and 17,980 metric tonnes from Raipur Rani. Meanwhile, HAFED purchased an additional 1,695 metric tonnes from the Panchkula grain market.

The procurement has been progressing smoothly, with systematic arrangements in place for the arrival, inspection, and lifting of produce.

Farmers are being encouraged to bring their crops to the mandis as per their scheduled slots to avoid overcrowding and ensure timely payment and processing.
