Mohali, June 18

More than four months after the beginning of the second wave of Covid-19, the district witnessed less than 25 fresh cases in a day. The district reported 24 cases during the past 24 hours. On February 18, 27 persons were tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, one patient died on Friday, taking the total number of deaths due to Covid to 1,037. It was on March 30 when the district saw single death. As many as 107 patients were cured of the disease on Friday.

Among the new cases, four each came from Mohali (urban) and Dera Bassi, two each from Boothgarh and Gharuan, five from Dhakoli and seven from Kharar. No fresh case was reported from Lalru, Kurali and Banur.

The district has so far reported 67,982 cases and 66,402 recoveries.
