Chandigarh, November 20
The Chandigarh teams won their third matches in a row in the 65th National School Games under-19 baseball tournament here today. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams had it easy against the Punjab teams. In the boys’ category, Chandigarh beat Punjab 9-1, with Vijay, Suraj and Chandan starring for the host team. Ghanshyam, Harsimran and Vishal also pitched in with valuable contributions.
In the girls’ category, the host team eased past Punjab 11-1. Tanu and Muskaan scored two runs each for Chandigarh.
In the other boys’ matches, Chhattisgarh beat CBSEWSO 10-0, Haryana beat CBSEWSO 11-1, Punjab blanked Tamil Nadu 10-0, Delhi beat Goa 9-0 and Madhya Pradesh
beat Maharashtra 9-4. Gujaratand Andhra Pradesh played out a 9-9 draw. Kerala beat Vidya Bharti 6-1.
In the other girls’ matches, Chattisgarh beat Jammu & Kashmir 10-0, Maharashtra beat Delhi 4-3, Gujarat and Kerala played out a 1-1 draw, Andhra Pradesh blanked Tamil Nadu 10-0 and Vidhya Bhartieased past Tamil Nadu 10-0.
