As part of the ongoing panchayat samiti election process in the district, a 310 of the total 321 candidate nominations were found valid during the scrutiny held today.

The remaining 11 candidates have been declared ineligible to contest the elections.

For the 22 zones of the Derabassi Panchayat Samiti, a total of 149 nominations had been received. Of these, six were rejected during scrutiny, while 143 were found valid.

In the case of the Kharar Panchayat Samiti, a total of 78 nominations were received for 15 zones.

After scrutiny, five were rejected, leaving 73 valid nominations.

For the 15 zones of the Majri Panchayat Samiti, a total of 94 nominations received were found valid during scrutiny.

Sharing further details, Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal added that tomorrow, December 6, is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers.
