The Police Department has got 67 new challaning machines for traffic enforcement in the city. The machines have been distributed to police station incharges, outpost incharges and the crime branch, enabling officials to monitor and respond to traffic violations more effectively.

The initiative is focused on curbing triple riding, vehicles without number plates and other suspicious activities.

During a meeting with urban police station incharges, DCP Himadri Kaushik stressed the importance of the new system in improving both crime control and traffic management. The move is seen as part of a broader strategy to reduce incidents of robbery and snatching, while also encouraging stricter adherence to traffic laws.
