Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan inspected the electronic voting machines’ (EVMs) warehouse at the new Small Secretariat building in Sector 1 here today. Sarwan checked the seal of the lock on the warehouse and also the EVMs, voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) warehouse, CCTV cameras, electricity system, and fire extinguishers.

He inspected the first-level checking room and asked the guard deployed outside the warehouse about the security measures. Later, he made an entry in the EVM logbook.

The main objective of the quarterly inspection is to ensure the safety of the EVMs placed under the authority of the district administration. After checking, the DC got the warehouse sealed. Representatives of the Congress, JJP, BSP, and BJP accompanied Sarwan. Naib Tehsildar Ajay Rathi and Election Kanungo Kuldeep were present on the occasion.
