The detective staff of the local police nabbed a woman possessing a chain snatched from a resident of Pinjore in Panchkula district.

The arrested woman has been identified as Amandeep Kaur, alias Ashu, a resident of Bhauala Chamkaur Sahib village in Roopnagar district of Punjab and presently residing at Kharar in Mohali.

The police said the victim, Rajni of Aanchal Vihar in Pinjore, had lodged a complaint on May 17 that while she was on an evening stroll outside her house, a biker came from behind and snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled the scene. A case under Section 379 of the IPC was registered at the Pinjore police station.

The police said during investigation, the detective staff arrested the main accused, Satnam Singh, a resident of Roopnagar. The suspect revealed that the gold chain was with Amandeep Kaur.

The woman was produced in a court, which remanded her to judicial custody.
