A 23-year-old youth from Rally village in Sector 12-A was allegedly attacked by a group of 12 men at Yavnika Park in Sector 5 where the victim had gone to celebrate his friend’s birthday.

Rohit and his friend Vikas sustained knife injuries in the attack, the police said.

Vikas had come to Rohit’s rescue when he was stabbed in the hip. According to the victim, the suspects threatened to kill him.

Injured Vikas was taken to the Civil Hospital where he concealed the truth upon doctors’ inquiry so that their parents didn’t come to know about it. However, Rohit’s parents came to know about his injuries when he reached home following which he revealed the incident to them.

Subsequently, a formal complaint was given to the police. Acting on it, the police registered a case. The suspects named in the FIR are Jatin, Sandeep, Roshan, Akhilesh, Pintu, Nikhil, Arun, Mantaj, Golu, Amit, Prem and Akash. — TNS
