Panel: Recognition for playschools made mandatory

Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Members Anil Kumar and Shyam Sunder on Wednesday chaired a meeting at the Mini-Secretariat to discuss matters pertaining to playschools.

Commission members directed all playschool operators to ensure strict compliance with the Safe School Vehicle Policy. The commission added that obtaining recognition was mandatory for all playschools. It was said during the meeting that individuals or organisations intending to operate a playschool must seek approval from the District Programme Officer concerned.

Adopting a firm stance, the commission instructed the parties present to ensure that all unrecognised playschools operating in the district be identified, and directed to obtain recognition within a stipulated timeframe.

Failure to do so would be treated as a violation of child rights, and such schools would be ordered to cease operations, the commission said.
