Chandigarh’s Punjab University and Haryana’s Chaudhary Charan Singh Agricultural University are among the top five government-aided varsities in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020 launched by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday.

The list, piloted by Education Ministry, ranks institutions in various categories.

While Panjab University and CCS Agricultural varsity are placed second and third among government-aided universities, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Maharashtra, tops this category.

IIT Madras leads the rankings in the category of Institute of National Importance, central varsities and centrally-funded technical universities followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur and IIT Mandi.

The government and government-aided college section see College of Engineering, Pune, topping the charts followed by PES Institute of Engineering, Karnataka.
