The Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University (PU), will open its annual production event with play ‘Laal Lakeer’, written by Dinesh Nair. The play is designed and directed by actor-director Dr Navdeep Kaur, chairperson of the department.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar will inaugurate the event. The plays will be focused on the commemoration of 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava).

The studio theatre at the PU has been converted into a village of undivided Punjab to give the feel of a bygone era. During the process, students learnt both onstage and offstage work of this live performing art.
