An all-round performance by Paras (50 off 41 balls and two wickets) helped Chandigarh Cricket Academy defeat Ropar District Cricket Association by five runs in the 1st Dinesh Verma Memorial U-19 Cricket Tournament today.

Bating first, Chandigarh lads posted 219 runs before getting all out in 38.2 overs. Paras remained the main scorer for the side, while Shubham Arya (44), Puneet Kumar (23), Prince Upadhyay (23), Pratham Sodhi (20) and Shray Chibber (14) were the other main scorers for the side.

Simranjeet Singh (3/26) was the pick of the bowlers, while Karman Preet Singh (2/38), Dhruv Khanna (2/41), Anush Prashar (1/48) and Harmoor Nanda (1/24) also claimed wickets.

In reply, Ropar lads scored 214 runs before getting all out in 39.1 overs. Mohit Bhatt (51) led the scoring chart, followed by Jeevanjot Singh Bajwa (36), Karman Preet Singh (31) and Mayank Gupta (24). Anurag Sharma, Paras and Kavya Goyal took two wickets each, while Harish Kumar took one for the bowling side.
