Chandigarh, January 27

Hockey Patiala defeated Hockey Bihar 4-1 in a Group E match on the fourth day of the 10th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2020 (B Division) at Kollam, Kerala.

Goal scorers

  • Mandeeep Kaur (1st), Taranpreet Kaur (3rd), Sumanpreet Kaur (7th) and Sukhveer Kaur (24th) struck for Patiala.

Mandeeep Kaur put Patiala ahead in the very first minute of the match. The lead was doubled by Taranpreet Kaur in the 3rd minute, while Sumanpreet Kaur made it 3-0 in the 7th minute.

In the second quarter, Hockey Patiala tightened their grip on the match as Sukhveer Kaur scored from a penalty stroke in the 24th minute to stretch the lead to 4-0.

Aprajita Kumari (25th) scored the lone goal for Bihar.

In Group D, UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Academy drubbed Delhi Hockey 5-0. The bankers scored through Radha (14th), Pooja (41st), Arti (46th), skipper Deepti (53rd) and Anjali Devi (56th).

In Group F, Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd scored hammered Telangana Hockey 7-0. Priya Dubey (22nd, 39th, 49th) scored a hat-trick, while Payal Sawant (31st), Ruqqaiya Shaikh (38th), Althea D’Almeida (43rd) and Resham Mahadik (57th) scored a goal each for the Mumbai outfit.

Meanwhile, today’s matches between Hockey Coorg and Goans Hockey, Association of Indian Universities and Hockey Gujarat, Steel Plant Sports Board and Hockey Madhya Bharat, and Assam Hockey and Bengaluru Hockey Association were not played.
