Chandigarh: A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run. Complainant Ram Singh, a resident of Sector 35, reported that a car sped away after hitting his wife near his house. She was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32 where doctors declared her brought dead. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station. TNS

3 miscreants flee with phone

Chandigarh: Three scooter-borne miscreants snatched a mobile phone from a man in Sector 51. Complainant Mukesh Sharma, a resident of Burail village, stated that the incident took place near the ESIC Society. He failed to note down the registration number of the scooter. A case has been registered at the Sector 49 police station. TNS

Burglary at Sec 22 house

Chandigarh: A theft was reported from a house in Sector 22. Complainant Vikram stated that someone stole a gold necklace and some household items from his house on the night intervening February 6 and 7. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 police station. TNS

Eight flights delayed

Mohali: Eight flights were delayed at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport here on Thurday. Most of these flights were late by around an hour. The arrival and departure of Dubai flights were behind schedule by around 40 minutes.

City golfer wins Asian JR Masters
