Pelf and Ankush Kapoor won women’s and men’s singles titles on the concluding day of the Gurukul Global Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championships at the Sector 50 sports complex.

In the women’s final, Pelf overpowered Teetiksha 12-10, 6-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-5 to grab the title. Earlier in the semifinals, Teetiksha defeated Sherell 15-13, 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 11-8 and Pelf blanked Cherrish 11-5, 11-5, 11-9. Even in the quarterfinals, Pelf recorded an easy 11-7, 11-6, 12-10 win over Neham while Teetiksha recorded a comeback 8-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-5 win over Saanvi Midha. Sherell defeated Prabhleen 11-1, 11-6, 11-6 and Cherrish outclassed Anjali 11-9, 11-4, 11-3.

Ankush Kapoor easily won the men’s final by defeating Sahil Sharma 11-7, 11-5, 11-9. Kapoor defeated Vadya 15-13, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, while Sahil Sharma defeated Samarth Sharma 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9.
