Chandigarh, January 12

Two dogs — a Pitbull and a Labrador — were burnt alive in a fire on the ground floor of a house in Sector 29-B in the wee hours of today.

The fire broke out at 2.15 am. All four family members of the house, however, managed to save themselves. They ran out of the house after they realised that a fire had broken out. A short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire.

Gopal Chand, one of their relatives, who lives in the neighbourhood, said the two dogs were sleeping under a fibre shed when it suddenly caught fire. Both got burnt immediately. The shed is in the verandah.
