The interventional radiology team of the PGIMER won several awards and honours at the recently concluded silver jubilee conference of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) at Kochi.

Prof Naveen Kalra was honoured with the ISVIR Gold Medal for the year 2025 for his contribution to the field of interventional radiology. He was also honoured for his contribution as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Interventional Radiology, the official journal of the Society.

The awards for the best reviewer of the journal were conferred on

Dr Ujjwal Gorsi, Dr Pankaj Gupta and Dr Harish Bhujade. Dr Gupta also won the best poster award.

Dr Bhujade was elected as executive member of the society.

DM students Siva and Akshay won the national quiz. “The PGI was among the first in the country to start the DM course for interventional radiology and trains two students each year,” said Prof Mandeep Kang, coordinator of the course.

Prof Paramjeet Singh, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis, said, “The department has been conducting minimally invasive image-guided procedures for over three decades now.”
