The Department of Dietetics, PGIMER, observed the World Anti-Obesity Day by organising a special anti-obesity clinic for the patients visiting various medicine OPD’s covering endo, gastro and bariatric surgery.

Dieticians from the department disseminated structured diet plans, along with proper nutritional counseling to the beneficiaries. The day was observed to create awareness about the most serious diseases as well as their root causes.

Dr Nancy Sahni, Chief Dietician, Department of Dietetics, said, “Central obesity or excessive fat accumulation presents a health risk at any stage of life, but it can be well reversed by treating the root cause of the disease.”

Prof Ashutosh Rastogi from the Department of Endocrinology and Prof Pankaj Arora, DMS, Hospital Administration , also interacted with the patients.
