Philanthropist Onkar Chand, who headed the Servants of the People Society, Chandigarh branch, passed away at the age of 91 this morning. At a very young age, he got inspired by Vinoba Bhave and joined the Bhoodaan Movement. Later on, he was inducted into the Servants of the People Society, which was founded by Lala Lajpat Rai.

He also represented the Chintpurni Assembly constituency in Himachal Pradesh.
