An accident near Karan Taxi Stand, Sector 38 (West), here claimed the life of a physically challenged man on Thursday morning.

After receiving information around 11:01 am, a police control room team reached the spot and found the damaged scooter at the spot. Om Parkash, a resident of Sector 25, who was riding the schooter, sustained severe injuries.

He was shifted to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where the doctors later declared him dead.

On a statement of the deceased’s brother, the police registered a case under Sections 106(1), 125(B), and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The investigating team is making efforts to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the incident.
