Taking immediate cognisance of the incident, DCP Shrishti Gupta suspended the negligent constable and ordered a departmental inquiry. A show-cause notice was also issued to the SHO and the investigation was handed over to ACP Kalka.

Under DCP Gupta's orders, Inspector Bachhu Singh, SHO Pinjore, formed a special team that carried out intensive raids at multiple locations. Using CCTV footage and confidential inputs, the police team traced the accused and arrested him from Tibbi village in the Pinjore area within 24 hours.

The DCP stated, "There was indeed a lapse on our part and the escape posed a major challenge. However, with the tireless efforts of our team, we successfully re-arrested the accused within 24 hours."
