Residents of many sectors faced water shortage today after one of the pipelines carrying water from the Kajauli waterworks got damaged.

Work to fix the damaged pipeline has been started by the Municipal Corporation (MC).

The city gets supply from six pipelines with each carrying 20 MGD of water to the Sector 39 waterworks. Suraj Singh, a resident of Sector 40, said there was no water supply on upper floors in the morning.

However, the MC officials claimed they had sufficient water at the waterworks. They claimed the leakage in the pipeline would be fixed soon.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
