In line with directives from Haryana Chief Minister and DGP OP Singh to strengthen security, Panchkula police have intensified border control measures. Under supervision of Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj, checking has begun at five inter-state border checkpoints adjoining Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

This evening, DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta inspected the Punjab border nakas, while DCP Crime Manpreet Singh Sudan reviewed arrangements along the Himachal Pradesh border. Officials said individuals with criminal intent would now have to think twice before attempting to enter the district. Continuous checking of suspicious vehicles is under way, with officers maintaining constant vigilance at all checkpoints.

To further bolster security, solar-powered CCTV cameras have been installed for continuous monitoring, and a dedicated control room has been set up to enable swift response to any criminal incident.

Police Commissioner Kabiraj said, “Our priority is that the citizens of Panchkula feel safe at all times. Criminals will have to think a hundred times before trying to enter this district. Our teams are alert day and night and committed to preventing any criminal activity before it occurs. Drug traffickers, thieves and offenders with criminal tendencies will find it extremely difficult to infiltrate Panchkula. For us, security is not merely a duty — it is our topmost priority.”

He added measures are being taken to ensure traffic congestion does not occur during checking operations, and all personnel have been instructed to wear reflector jackets for visibility and safety.

DCP Gupta has also appealed to house owners to ensure police verification of their tenants and migrant workers, stressing that it is essential for their own safety. “Accurate information and timely verification can help us curb crime effectively within the district,” she said.

She urged all station house officers, outpost in-charges and police officers from bordering states to maintain close coordination so information about suspected criminal elements can be shared immediately and appropriate action taken without delay.
