Panchkula, February 18

Members of the Panchkula Vikas Manch today held a protest against the paid parking system introduced by the Municipal Corporation in various markets.

Rakesh Agarwal and Seema Bhardwaj, members of the mach said, paid parking in Sector 8, 9 and 10 markets will put an additional burden on shopkeepers. The duo said the shop owners would have to shell out Rs 30 to Rs 40 per day for parking their vehicles.

Members of the manch said the civic body should immediately stop the paid parking system as it would give relief to shopkeepers as well as shoppers.

The shopkeepers said before the Assembly election, the local MLA had promised that the paid parking would not be introduced, but after winning the polls, he introduced the same.
