The Municipal Corporation has issued a Rs 13,500 challan to Punjab National Bank (PNB), Sector 17, for littering a public area. The challan was issued under the Solid Waste Management Rules after a team of the MC found a heap of garbage in an open space containing multiple slips of the bank.

The team retrieved these slips belonging to the bank from the waste. Under the city’s cleanliness norms and the guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the bank was issued Rs 13,500 challan for improper disposal of waste.

Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar has warned all commercial and institutional establishments, and residents of action if they failed to strictly adhere to solid waste management rules. He emphasised that any form of littering or violation of cleanliness norms in public spaces will invite strict action.
