The Mohali police sought production warrants of controversial DSP Atul Soni from the local court today. The court has given March 5 for the same.

According to the police, after bringing Atul Soni in the police custody, they will interrogate him. Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Harmandeep Hans said Soni would be questioned on the unlicensed weapon that was recovered from his house. Hans also said Sunita Soni would also be questioned why she took a U-turn after registering the complaint against Atul Soni.

Atul, who had surrendered in the court yesterday, is currently lodged at Ropar jail.

A case was registered against him under Sections 307, 498-A and 323 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at the Phase VIII police station on January 19. — TNS
