Poll arrangements reviewed in Fatehgarh Sahib district

Observer for the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Jagjit Singh (Senior PCS Officer), held a meeting to review election arrangements with returning officers and assistant returning officers here today. He directed officials to ensure strict compliance with the latest guidelines issued by the Election Commission.

He said, “The commission has published a standard booklet regarding training. Master trainers should also be informed about the latest instructions of the commission.”

He also sought information from officials about steps being taken to resolve complaints related to election material management, security arrangements, blockades, patrolling parties, the police force, sensitive, highly sensitive polling booths, route plan, communication plan and the election process.

District Election Officer Dr Sona Thind assured the observer that the entire election process would be conducted in a completely transparent, fair and secure environment. Strict compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission would also be ensured, Dr Sona said.

The observer said he would listen to problems related to elections of the general public at Room No. 117 of the District Administrative Complex Fatehgarh Sahib till December 6. Any candidate or citizen can meet him in Room No. 117 regarding the elections, the observer said.
